Bangkok, January 30, 2025 – The executive teams from the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, and Bangkok Hospital are set to welcome a delegation of experts from the Prince Mahidol Award Conference (PMAC) 2025 for an exclusive visit to observe the real-world application of Inspectra CXR—an AI-driven chest X-ray analysis system developed and provided by Perceptra Co., Ltd.
Under the theme “Harnessing Technology in an Age of AI to Build a Healthier World,” PMAC 2025 explores how technology and innovation can strengthen health systems and promote universal health coverage, ethical AI governance, and equitable healthcare access. The field trip is designed to highlight Thailand’s success in integrating cutting-edge medical technologies to ensure high-quality healthcare for all.
Prof.Dr. Apichat Asavamongkolkul, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, emphasized the importance of cross-sector collaboration in advancing healthcare innovation:
“This comprehensive gathering reflects Thailand’s unified approach to healthcare innovation, where public and private sectors, academia, industries, and regulatory bodies work together to ensure that technological advances benefit our entire healthcare system.”From the private healthcare sector, Dr. Poramaporn Prasarttong-Osoth, CEO of Bangkok Dusit Medical Services (BDMS), underscored AI’s transformative impact on accessibility and healthcare equity:
“AI-driven solutions have been initiated and implemented for diagnostic radiology in Thailand. This partnership made a great, successful part of Thai healthcare transformation. Through this effort, it does not only improve quality of healthcare service, but also enhance the quality of patient care in remote areas.”Speaking on behalf of Perceptra, Ms. Supichaya Pupisut, CEO of Perceptra Co., Ltd., highlighted the role of AI in advancing diagnostic capabilities:
“The adoption of Inspectra CXR in leading hospitals across Thailand demonstrates the immense potential of AI in improving diagnostic standards in our healthcare system. This international visit to Bangkok Hospital provides a valuable opportunity to showcase how Thai-developed AI technology is making a significant impact on global healthcare.”Inspectra CXR was developed in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, leveraging a dataset of over 1.9 million chest X-ray images, with approximately 47% from Asian populations. This extensive dataset enhances the system’s accuracy in diagnosing diseases prevalent in the region. Inspectra CXR is also the first AI-powered medical imaging solution in Thailand to receive regulatory approval from both the Thai FDA and Singapore’s Health Sciences Authority (HSA). Additionally, Siriraj Breast Center and Bangkok Hospital are pioneering the implementation of Inspectra MMG, Perceptra’s latest AI innovation for mammogram analysis, further reinforcing the role of AI in early detection and precision diagnostics.
